Choosing a knitting pattern can be a daunting task especially when you are first beginning to knit. The good news is that today patterns, at least in the U.S., are written pretty well and typically met certain standards.
Typically a Knitting Pattern will include the following features:
Name of the pattern
photo of the completed project
designer of the pattern
skill level needed to complete the pattern
supplies needed to complete the pattern and used by the designer
yarn used by the designer to make the completed pictured project
gauge used to complete the pictured project
finished / final measurements of the completed project
the pattern may include abbreviations or acronyms used in knitting used in the pattern
pattern instructions
Note that most patterns will and should disclose that the pattern may have errors or omissions although the designer will try to prevent this. When you purchase a Shidonna Raven Pattern or Publication, we offer pattern support for any questions that you may have, knowing nothing is truly always error free. No worries, we are here to help.
