Boho’s been back for a year now, but spring’s best runways took the ’70s-inflected aesthetic in its dreamiest direction yet. Sheer fabrics and handicraft detailing abounded, which went heavy on beading and embroidery grounded by more solid footwear. The attitude extended to hair, too with models’ locks in flowy ribbons and gold jewelry. I’m all for layering sheer pieces and investing in vintage gowns, should that mode of dressing interest you—but you can get the same effect by, say, throwing on a romantic blouse with suede sandals and leaving your hair messy when you’re off to brunch.
